Our Sugeries

Soft Tissue Surgery

Spaying

These surgeries range from foreign body removals through gastrotomy or enterotomy, to gastric dilatation and volvulus (GDV), tumor removal and preventative surgeries such as gastropexy.

Pets can be very curious eaters. Foreign body obstructions can be caused by anything not easily digestible, like clothing, sticks, children’s toys, bones or trash.

Neutering / Castration

Neutering-removing the testicles of your male dog or cat, prevents testicular cancer and some prostate problems, will vastly improve your pet’s behavior problems associated with the mating instinct and keep him close to home. Some aggression problems can also be avoided by early neutering.

Neutering is preventing the birth of unwanted puppies and kittens and it is critical for management of homeless animals who are neglected, they die of disease or they ended up being euthanized and all others related disease control concerns.

Cystotomy

Bladder stones are rock-like formations of minerals that develop in the urinary bladder, they are common in pets and may require surgical intervention. Cystotomy, is a surgical procedure to open the urinary bladder and remove bladder stones.

Mass Removal Surgery

Mass Removal Surgery is intended to remove unwanted mass or dangerous growths from your pet. The goal of any mass removal surgery is to remove the abnormal tissue so it cannot cause problems either by growing too large, damaging surrounding tissue or spreading to other places inside the body.

Mammary Tumor Removal this surgery

Mammary Tumor Removal this surgery is an essential treatment for mammary tumors. Removing the entire mammary chain may be recommended if a tumor is found in multiple mammary glands. Mammary tumors are more common in intact than in spayed females; in fact, spaying before the first or second heat cycle significantly reduces the risk of developing mammary tumors.

Caesarean sections

Usually done as an emergency surgery when there is difficulty with natural birth.

Hernia Repair

A hernia occurs when one part of the body or part of an organ protrudes through a gap or opening into another part of the body. Many types of hernias occur in the abdominal area.

Further surgery to repair the hernia may be advised.

Ophthalmic surgeries

Entropion

In entropion, eyelids roll inward directly irritating the eye; surgical correction is always warranted. Often causes the hair on the surface of the eyelid to rub against the cornea resulting in pain, corneal ulcers, perforations, or pigment developing on the cornea which can interfere with vision. The treatment for entropion is surgical correction.

Ectropion

In ectropion the lower eyelid ‘rolls’ outward or is everted. This causes the lower eyelids to appear droopy. Entropion is very painful and often causes conjunctivitis, eye infections and eye ulcers. Entropion often affects both eyes. Left untreated, entropion can cause severe pain, scarring and even loss of an eye. Surgical correction is always warranted.

Cherry Eye

Cherry eye is a prolapsed gland of the third eyelid which appears as a red swollen mass on the lower eyelid. Many mammals, have an “extra” or third eyelid located inside the lower eyelid which serves as an additional protective layer for the eye. Most dogs develop cherry eye at a young age; surgical correction is warranted.

Corneal ulcers

Corneal ulcers—Corneal ulceration is one of the most common ophthalmic problems seen in our canine and feline patients. An ulcer is erosion on the surface of the eye, painful and sometimes requiring surgical correction – Tarsorrhaphy.

Keratoconjunctivitis

An inflammatory eye conditions involving the cornea and the conjunctiva. It is an ocular condition commonly diagnosed in dogs, and less commonly in other species and results most often from an inadequate quantity of tears or a deficient quality of tears. Tears are needed to provide lubrication and nutrition to the cornea, as well as remove debris and/or infectious agents from the eye. Treatment can be medical or surgical (Tarsorrhaphy), and sometimes both.

Orthopedic Surgeries

Bones Fracture Repair

The procedure to repair damage in the continuity of the bone. Fractures can occur from physical trauma or stress, and can also be a side effect of certain diseases in pets such as osteoporosis and bone cancer

Limb Amputation Surgeries

The surgical removal of limbs that have been injured by trauma, illness, or birth defects

Femoral Head Osteotomy

Femoral Head Osteotomy – is a surgical procedure that aims to restore pain – free mobility to a diseased or damaged hip, by removing the head and neck of the femur. It is a surgery of last resort when no there efforts to alleviate pain has been successful.

Jaw Fracture Repair

Some sort of trauma is usually the cause of jaw fractures, including pets being hit by cars or fights with other dogs.  While internal fixation with metal plates, screws, and wires is sometimes required to treat a broken jaw, many fractures can be treated with acrylic splints The most important goal in jaw fracture repair is to allow the pet to eat comfortably, soon after repair.

Tail Amputation

Tail Amputation involves the surgical removal of the tail, trauma is the most common reason for this surgery.
